suppose you are standing 200 ft away from a tree & u see a kite hovering directly above that tree. The angle of elevation from you to the kite is 36°. To the nearest foot, what is the height of the kite?

the height of the kite is the vertical leg and the distance from the tree is the horizontal leg

tan=opposite/adjacent

tan(36)=x/200 where x=the height of the kite

0.726542528=x/200

0.726542528*200=x

x=145.308 feet

x=145 feet is the height of the kite
