This is a linear function.
A linear function standard form is of the following form:
ax + by = c
Or basically, moving all the variables to one side (left most of the times) and getting rid of any denominators.
In this example, adding 2x to both sides will result in:
2x + y = 0
Notice that it is now in standard form with:
a=2
b=1
c=0
