in a 45 45 90 triangle what is the length of the hypotenuse if the leg is 24

This problem I worked out plenty of time but im not sure if it applies with sine cos and tan

In a 45-45-90 triangle the two legs are equal

 

Using Pythagoras:

 

c² = 24² + 24²

c2 = 576 + 576

c² = 1152

c =  33.941

 

Using trigonometric functions

 

sin 45° = 24/h

h sin 45° = 24

h = 24 / sin 45°

h = 24 / (√2/2)

h = (2 · 24) / √2

h = 48 / √2

h = 24√2

h ≈ 33.941
