Do insects with compound eyes have depth perception? They fly as if they do, but their eyes are so close together it seems like the image would be 2 dimensional.

Not in the traditional sense, no. They don't see in 2D either, though. Specialized structures called ocelli provide some "depth perception" by detecting movement of objects nearby.
