Use two columns in Microsoft Word separately?

I want to do a two-column layout in Microsoft Word, but instead of the second column being written as a continuation of the first, I want the two columns to be written separately just like they were two different pages.How would you go about doing this in Word 2010?

The easiest way to accomplish this would probably be to create a 2x1 table object and then make the borders of the table invisible.

To accomplish this go to insert > Table > 2x1. Then, while selecting the table navigate to Design and select Plain Table 4 format, then you will be able to type within the table cells
