What is the significance of al-Qurʾān referring to ʿĪsā as المسيح?

Al-Qurʾān refers to ʿĪsā as المسيح.For example, in Sūratu Āli ʿImrān:45:>إِذْ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنْهُ اسْمُهُ **الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَم** وَجِيهًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ1. مسح is the root word for مسيح

just like فعل to فعيل

one explanation given to the name

لما أنه كان عليه الصلاة والسلام إذا مسح الأكمه والأبرص عافاه الله، 

Because of how he'd cure ( by the will of Allah) the blind and the leper by wiping(مسح) them

another meaning

كثرة السياحة والتنقل

traveling and journeying often

and there are other proposed reasons, including that it was am Arabization of the Hebrew word Mashih

First the word المسيح it is not verb , it is noun the name of Jesus, all the Arabic people and holly book Christians and Muslims called him المسيح in Quraan or even the Arabic version of the bible

Second the word مسح is verb in it has no relation or link to the word المسيح

مسح means remove something, clean , erase.
