Can 깨다 and 부수다 be used interchangeably?

What is the difference between these words when used to mean "to break (something)"? Can they be used interchangeably?

Depends. 깨다 is used more likely on glasses.

I broke the glass (mirrors). (유리가 깨지다)

or it can also be used like this:

I heard the couple broke up. (그 커플 깨졌대.)

부수다=distroy

I destroyed his desk. (그의 책상을 부셨다.)

or

The construction company is destroying the buildings. (건축회사에서 건물을 부시고 있다.)
