A force of 50N is required to push a car on a level road with constant speed of 10 m/s. The mass of the car is 500 kg. The force that should be applied to make the car accelerate at 2m/s 2 is ?

Newtons 2nd law ∑(all the external forces) =mass x acceleration

The first case tells us that the force required to overcome friction is 50N there is no acceleration i.e. constant velocity.

Second case let F be the required force then applying Newtons law again

F-50=500*2

so F=1050N
