This is really a preference question. The two primary touch point for steel connection drawings are with the structural engineer of record for the project and the detailing fabricators from the steel subcontractor. The teams you work with may primarily dictate which tools are right for you. Both Tekla (a Trimble company) and Autodesk Revit have cloud collaboration platforms which utilize Amazon Web Service (AWS) S3 (simple storage service) buckets for organizing files in a cloud environment. While much of the architecture, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing information will be in Revit format on BIM 360 Design, many of the Revit families for pipes, ducts, and fittings may come from Trimble SysQue Revit libraries. In most cases you will end up with a mix of Autodesk and Trimble model and survey information as the project develops. Look at the teams that you want to work with in the short term and see what they use. Hopefully this helps.
