A couple of things I recommend for students when solving math problems on the SAT that I believe will help with the careless mistakes you mention. Rewrite your givens and what your trying to solve for. This will help you not only with your problem solving but it should make it less likely for you to mistake variables and what you are actually solving for. Another thing I suggest is to draw diagrams to help with understanding.
How do I avoid careless mistakes on the SAT math section
I usually do well on the Math section, but I end up missing 3-5 question because of careless mistakes such as writing the radius instead of the diameter or solving for x instead of solving for y. How do I avoid these careless mistakes???
