Hello,
A RAW (or raw in lower case, it's the same thing) is an image file that it is not compressed or processed in any way. Raw files are far larger than JPEG (or JPG, it's the same thing) files.
On the other hand JPG files are image files that have gone through some compression process. Even the highest quality JPG has been through some level of compression.
JPEG stands for "Joint Photographic Experts Group". Read more about the JPEG group here.
