In general, a fact is what is, and truth is a quality of a statement or proposition. The two are closely related because propositions intend to communicate facts. If the statement corresponds to reality -- if it genuinely communicates an actual fact -- then we say that the statement is true. If it fails to do so, then we say it is false.
