how do i graph a fraction equation?

I have this problem, y=7x+5...i don't understand how to graph it.

This written in the slope intercept form.

y= mx+ b

m is the slope, which is rise/ run

b is the y-intercept, where the line crosses the y axis.

 

We have

y= 7x+ 5, so the slope is 7 or 7/1.  Seven up and one to the right.   

                the y intercept is 5.

So, this is what you do Amari.  So to the origin, and go to 5 on the y- axis. Put a dot. From that point, go up 7 up, so you should be at 12 on the y-axis.  Then move 1 to the right. The point should be (12,1). Put another dot there.  Now, connect the to dots.  But, don't just stop at the dots keep on going for a little bit, and put an arrow at both ends.

Amari, the equation is in slope intercept form in which is

This implies

 

m=slope=7

b=y-intercept=5 This is where the line crosses the y-axis. This is the point where you start, (0,5).

 

Since the slope is 7, then you would plot the next point 7 units up and one unit to the right in which the next point is (1,12), than you do the some for the next point, (2,19), etc. Also, you would want to plot a point that goes down 7 units and left 1 unit from the point (0,5) in which is point (-1,-2), and do the same as you plot another point when you go down 7 units and move 1 unit to the left in which becomes (-2,-9).
