Are you supposed to find the SLOPE of a parallel line or the EQUATION? I'm asking because the slope is given in the question. The slope is simply the slope of the given line, and is the coefficient of the X term. In the first equation, y = - 5/2 X - 2... the slope is -5/2. If you need an equation of a parallel line just change the -2 to any other number, like +5, and you have a parallel line. The second equation, y = -x-5... the slope is -1. A parallel line would be y = -x +73... or anything else in place of the 73.
