Your friend asks you to make a friendship bracelets and will give you 6 nickels for the first bracelet. You agree to help if she multiplies your payment by 6 for each bracelet completed. After 2 bracelets you will receive 36 nickels, and after 3 bracelets, you will receive 216 nickels. Complete and solve the equation that finds the number of nickels she will pay you after making the 8th bracelet.

So what they're asking you to do is to multiply by 6, a total of 8 times, so by the 8th bracelet, she will have to pay you 6⁸ nickels.

 

that's 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6, times 5 cents!

 

Are you allowed to use a calculator? Even if not, the multiplication won't be too hard--just keep your columns neat!

 

By the way, these must be KILLER bracelets, because this is going to be a LOT of money! :-)
