Let us assume that Tony is x years old.

As per question Lenny is 4 years older than Tony

So Lenny = 4+x years old

And Rita is twice as old as Lenny

Rita = 2(4+x) years old

Sum of ages of all three is 72

Tony + Lenny + rita= 72

X + 4+x + 2(x+4) =72

2x +4 +2x +8=72

4x + 12=72

4x = 72-12

4x = 60

X = 60/4

X = 15 years

Tony is 15 years

Lenny = x +4 = 15 +4 = 19 years

Rita = 2* 19 = 38 years

To check the answer we can add all three ages to see whether it comes to 72 or not
