Find the value of m so that the following system of equations has no solutions.

2mx + 3y = 2m

4x + y = 5

In a system of 2 linear equations

ax + by = e

cx + dy = f

The system will have no solutions if and only if ad-bc = 0 UNLESS the 2 equations are multiples of each other in which case there are said to be infinitely many solutions.

With this information you should be able to answer the question and if you are really interested you should try to figure out why what I have told you is true!
