A farmer has chickens and cows. There are 34 animals in all. The farmer counted 110 legs. How many chickens does the farmer have?

This is a common problem. If you Google it, you will see how to work out the problem. If you are just trying to get an answer, I would suggest drawing 34 circles to represent all of the animals. Then, add two legs to each circle (making 68 legs). Now, if you add two additional legs at a time and count on by twos up to 110, you will get your answer!
