In this question using ratio/proportion and solve for the unknown:
first determine what is known (one tablespoon/45 calories) and we do not know how much calories are in 8 tablespoon
one tablespoon (1T)/45 calories=8tablespoon (8T)/X calories, now, cross multiply to find for X:
once we set up our units correctly, we won't follow the units during cross multiply to avoid confusions.
Just remember: since I started 1T (one tablespoon) on the numerator and 45 calories on the denominator making sure the other side of our equation start with the same units.
X(1T) I/we ignore the (1T)
X=45*8= 360 calories
as we were looking for X calories; therefore, X= 360 calories (box your answer) :-)
