If one cell in a dog (2n=78) undergoes meiosis and another cell undergoes mitosis, how many chromosomes will each resulting cell contain?

Human diploid cells have 46 chromosomes (the somatic number, 2n) and human haploid gametes (egg and sperm) have 23 chromosomes (n).

So, if 2n = 78, then cells undergoing mitosis retain 78 chromosomes and cells undergoing meiosis have 39 chromosomes each.
