so but the answer is 1 5/8 Divide the total acres by the number of houses.

÷ 4 = ?

Write
6

as an improper fraction:

6

=
(6 × 2) + 1

=

2

Write 4 as an improper fraction:

4 =

Turn this from a division problem into a multiplication problem by multiplying by the reciprocal.

6

2
÷ 4 =
13

÷

4

Now multiply.

13

=
13 × 1
2 × 4

=

8

Simplify the answer.
