A person in a floor above you drops his mobile phone out the window. It takes .2s for the phone to fall 2m past your window.

u = 0

g = 9.8 m/s²

t = 0.2s

 

s = 1/2  9.8x.04 = 0.196m = distance phone traveled  after it was dropped.
