Since the problem says we assume it changes linearly, we will use a linear function to show how much value they lose.
The formula for slope (designated by m) is (change in y)/(change in x), or (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
This would give us (500-314)/3, which equals 186/3, or 62. So every year they lose $62 in value.
In 5 years the clubs would lose 5 * $62, which equals $310. So in 5 years they lose $310 in value.
In 5 years the clubs will be worth $500 - $310.
