A carpenter cut two pieces of plywood shaped like triangles. Two of the angles in the larger triangle are congruent to two of the angles in the smaller triangle. The larger of the triangular pieces has sides that measure 24 in., 72 in. and 54 in. The longest side of the smaller triangle measures 16 in.

Find the length of the shortest side of the smaller triangle. Enter your answer to the nearest whole inch

The triangles are similar because all 3 angles are the same (2 angles = means the other angles must be equal also).

Therefore 72/16 = 24/x. You solve for x.
