confidence~confide
application~applicable
classification~classificatory (But that word is not hugely popular, so maybe the word that is supposed to be the answer is "classifiable. The problem there is that the second 'i' in "classifiable" is a suffixing change of y/i when adding 'able' to 'classify'. "Classification" has a base of 'fic' in it. "Classify" has a base of 'fy' in it. Two different bases, but ulitmately from the same Latin root. But maybe the teacher asking the question has never considered this :)
satisfaction~? Not sure the base of 'satis' has a stressed vowel in any of its close family members. "Satiate" has a stressed 'i' that spells the long "e" sound, but they are more like cousins and the 'i' in satiate is a connecting vowel and not part of the base element like in 'satis'. So, "satiate" might be the answer, but I would never put those two words together quite like that.
