-3 + 1/2n = 1/2(-n + 14)
Multiply both sides of the equation by 2 to cancel the #2 in the denominator of the fraction
2(-3 + 1/2n) = 2(1/2(-n + 14))
-6 + n = -n + 14
2n = 20
n = 20 / 2 = 10
