The company is attempting to produce a fruit drink that contains 90% pure fruit juice. How many pints of each of the two existing types of drink must be used to make 30 pints of a mixture that is 90% pure fruit juice?

Algebraically:

(x pints)(70%) + (30 - x pints)(95%) = (30 pints)(90%)

70x + 2850 - 95x = 2700

-25x = -150

x = 6 pints of 70% and 24 pints of 95%
