Hello, Sammy.
Ok, the problem states that for every girl there are 3 boys. So, in a class of 4 people, there will be one girl and three boys. In a class of 8, there will be 2 girls and six boys, in a class of 12, there will be 3 girls and nine boys. Now, one out of four is 25%. So, the girls represent 25% of the class and boys represent 75%. So, what you need to do is multiply the total number of students times the percentage that is made up by boys. This percentage must be represented as a decimal. So, this is what you have
(.75)(236)= 177
There are 177 boys and 59 girls in the class.
I hope this helps out.

3/4 boys are taking classes. So you do 236/4=54 and you do 54×3=162, so 162 boys are taking classes04/29/19
