Absolute Value Statements

Hi hope you are having a great day!

 

I was confused how I would turn the following into an absolute value statement=

 

1) m is at least 8 units from 3

2) n is more than 7 units from -6

 

With both of these would I just leave the distance and then when I solved would I put the negative back in. Confused how I would turn that into an absolute value statement.

1.  l m-3 l ≥ 8

 

2.  l n-(-6) l > 7   (So, l n + 6 l > 7)
