Good evening. Recently with my class, we have been asked to create a device/effect statement that links the use of language to the author’s purpose or the effect on the audience while reading Macbeth by Shakespeare. could you help me and give a few answers?

Take a close look at the beginning of Act One, scene 7. Ask yourself why Macbeth is talking to himself? What effect does this isolation have on his thoughts here. I believe that could be a good place to start.
