Consecutive EVEN integers increase/decrease by 2 because you have to skip over the odd integer between them.The same scenario applies to CONSECUTIVE ODD integers because we must skip over the even integers between them. Example: -9,-7,-5
For example 6,8,10 are consecutive even inters, so are -12,-10,-8.
Let x= the first EVEN integer
x+ 2 = second consecutive EVEN integer
x+2+2= x+4 = third consecutive EVEN integer
sum = -354
x + (x+2) + (x+4) = -354
3x + 6 = -354
-6 -6
3x = -360
x = -120, x+2= -118, x+4= -116 check: -120+-118+-116 = -354
