If there is another way, I would call it non-standard...and confusing. The way you have done it is the usual way. I usually advise making the units work in such a problem.

asked 09/27/18nicholas scoops a few gum balls into his bag. when he weighs it, he finds that he scooped 0.76 pounds. about how much will the gum balls cost? cost per pound is $3.48. How would you do this problem using division? My daughter's assignment says to divide using decimals, but the only way I can think of to figure this out is to multiply: $3.48 X .76 = $2.64. Is there another way to do this problem using division?
