The length of a swimming pool is twice the width. The area of he pool is 5000 ft^2. Find the length and width of the pool.

Let w = the width of the pool

Let 2w = the length of the pool

A = lw

5000 = w(2w)

5000 = 2w²

2500 = w²

50 ft = w

2w = 2(50) = 100 ft
