5 sugar duds=8 krunchy krums. A sugar dud has 30 less than twice the amount of calories as a krunchy krum. How many calories are in each

5s = 8k

s = 2k - 30

 

Substitute 2k - 30 for s in the 1st equation, since they are equsl.

 

5(2k - 30) = 8k

 

Solve for k, then substitute that value in the 2nd equation to find s.
