nora works at a pharmaceutical company as a chemist. to meet the demands of the clients she was told to prepare 100 liters of 25% solution, she has on hand a 15% alcohol solution and a 40% alcohol solution that will be used to obtain the mixture

x = liters of 15% solution

100-x = liters of 40% solution

 

(x)(15%) + (100-x)(40%) = (100)(25%)

15x + 4000 - 40x = 2500

-25x = -1500

x = 60 liters of 15% solution

100-60 = 40 liters of 40% solution

Each part = 4 mls
