Three golfers Vijay Ernie and Phil during five years had a total of 191 top 10 finishes Ernie had 10 more top 10 finishes than Phil Vijay had 16 more top 10 finishes than Phil. Determine the number of top 10 finishes for each golfer

Let X = the number of top 10 finishes Phil had.

Ernie (Y) = X + 10 finishes

Vijay(Z) =  X + 16

Altogether , they had 191 top ten finishes.

 

X + X + 10 + X +  16 = 191

3X = 165

X = 55

 

So, Phil had 55

Ernie had 65

Vijay had 71
