So projection is bcosθ
Why the formula is ABcosθ?

To project a vector into another, you must multiply the product of their magnitudes by the cosine of the angle between them.  That is why

A·B = |A| |B|cosθ,

where θ is the angle between A and B.

so in the formula of w=fd why we donot use vector product and why we use scalar product?
what is the logic that where we should use scalar and vector product?

In order for work to be done by a force, there has to be displacement along the direction of the force, so work W is

W = F·d = |F| |d| cosθ

If there is no displacement along the direction of the force, θ = 90° and W = 0.

The vector product is a different concept unrelated to the scalar product.
