x = number of adult tickets at $5.00 each
122 - x = number of children tickets at $3.50 each
5.00x + 3.50(122 - x) = 571
5x + 3.5(122 - x) = 571
Solve for x, and get 122 - x. You should get 96 adult tickets and 26 children tickets. Test the answers.
