Hello Krystian,
You can do this problem many different ways. You can do this problem using decimals or fractions. I am going to do the problem both ways. Let me do the problem as decimals. 2/3 x becomes 0.67 x, rounding to the hundredths place value. And 3/2 is 1.5. So, this is what we have
0.67 x = 1.5 Divide both sides by .67
x= 2.24 Rounding to the hundredths place value
Now, solving this problem using fractions. I am going to multiply both sides of the equation by Least Common Denominator of 3 and 2, which is 6.
(2/3)x = 3/2 Multiply both sides by the LCM, which is 6
6(2/3)x = 6(3/2)
(12/3)x= (18/2) Simplify the fractions
4x= 9 Divide both sides by 4
x= 2.25
We get to different answers because I use rounding for the first way. The second way that I did the problem is the must accurate answer.
I hope this helps you out, and if you have any questions just post them.
