what are the dimensions of a rectangle if the length is one more than twice the width and the perimeter of the rectangle is 38?

Let w = the width
Let 2w + 1 = the length
P = 2l + 2w
38 = 2(2w + 1) + 2w
38 = 4w + 2 + 2w
36 = 6w
6 = w
2w + 1 = 2(6) + 1 = 13
