simplify and determine the domain
 
f(x)=3x+24/3x-24

Is it 3x + 24, the whole thing, over 3x -24, the whole thing?
 
Is it 3x plus 24 over 3x, the whole thing, minus 24?
 
Or, is it 3x plus 24 over 3x-24?

Please group things in parentheses (note Lauren's comment).  I will assume you meant to say
 
f(x) = (3x + 24)/(3x - 24)
 
Factor f(x) completely.
 
f(x) = 3(x + 8) / [3(x - 8)] = (x + 8)/(x - 8)
 
The denominator must not be zero, so the domain is all real numbers except 8.
