A 5 pound bag of candy contains about 2500 pieces. If the company makes 4.7 million bags of candy per year, about how many pieces of candy are made per year?

2.5 x 10^3 pieces/ 1bag times 4.7 x 10^6 bags = 11.75 x 10^9 = 1.175 x 10^10

The 4.7x106 should have units of bags/year instead of just bags, and the final answer should probably be rounded to 1.2x1010  (based on significant figures) with units of pieces/year.
