What is BeCLR????  Do you mean BeCl2????

 

Anyhow, whether a bond is ionic or covalent nay be determined by calculating the difference in electronegativity of the atoms, or, by this rule: a metal and a nonmetal form an ionic bond, and, a nonmetal and a nonmetal form a covalent bond.  Beryllium can  form two bonds only (an exception to the octet rule because it has a valence of 2.)
