#1) X²+5X+6 -(X²+2x+1)

 

= x² +5x + 6 - x² -2x -1

 

= 3x + 5

 

#2) (9x² + 3x - 2) / 3x 

 

if you look at each term individually (or you could use long divsion)

 

= 9x²/3x + 3x/3x -2/3x

 

= 3x + 1 - 2/3x
