Can’t seem to figure it out. PLEASE HELP !!!!

Rewrite in  a usual way

2x²+x-3=0  (compare with ax²+bc+c=0)

In your equation

a=2, b=1, c=-3

D=b²-4ac=1²-4*2*(-3)=1+24=25>0, So there two distinct roots os the equation.

x₁=(-b+√D)/(2a)=(-1+5)/(2*2)=4/4=1

x₂=(-b-√D)/(2a)=(-1-5)/(2*2)=-6/4=-3/2
