My grandson does not understand the distributive property of 10(b-6).  Is there an easy way to show him?

First you multiply 10 times b, which equals 10b.

Then you multiply 10 times -6, which equals -60.

 

Your answer is 10b - 60

 

You mutliply the number in front of the parentheses by each term inside the parentheses.
