The problem only works if the integers are consecutive even integers.
Let x = the smaller integer
Let x + 2 = the larger integer
x(x + 2) = 3(x + x + 2) - 6
x2 + 2x = 3(2x + 2) - 6
x2 + 2x = 6x + 6 - 6
x2 - 4x = 0
x(x - 4) = 0
x = 0 or x = 4
x + 2 = 6
