Let's cut to the chase: I know this subject & how to teach YOU
Do you intend to be asking about Expectation, E(X)? or ΣX ?
For a binomial distribution, E(X) = np where p = probability of success & n = # of (Bernoulli) trials.
For a normal distribution, E(X) = μ which is the mean, also known as "x bar"
When in doubt, the word WHETHER will be employed; WITHER is what happens to an unwatered plant (other than cactus).
