ratio is 7:4, or 7x:4x

7x+4x=1056

11x=1056

x=1056/11

x=96

7*96=672 supporters

4*96=384 opponents

x = 96

 

7(96) = 7*(100-4) = 7*100 - 7*4 = 700 - 28 = 672 supporters

4(96) = 4*(100-4) = 4*100 - 4*4 = 400 - 16 = 384 opponents
