Multiply 9 kid-count by 11 to get a ratio of kids to adults (because 1:11 adult-to-kid ratio)

If there are 99 kids, then there are 9 adults.

99 kids + 9 adults = 108 people in total

 

If 99 kids, then 44 girls (back to the ⁴/₉ bit)

So ⁴⁴/₁₀₈ are girls
